Our Group Wins the Tower Building Competition!

Our first big goal as a team to form the tallest possible tower given only the newspapers we were provided by the facilitators. We were given only 15 minutes and no other materials. It was required that the tower be able to stand on its own for judging.

Helmut began our process by putting about 8 pages of the paper together and rolling them into a telescoping tube. Next, Sanele and Andrea also built a tube and we put the three of them together that got thinner and thinner as it grew taller.

I worked on making small paper strips to act as bindings to connect and hold our work together. We used these many small bindings along the length of the tower.

Finally, we had to create a tripod base to hold our tall tower in place. We used smaller rolled paper lengths as legs and Andrea made a last dash by folding the bottom of each of these legs to act as "feet" for the tower to rest.

At the end, we put another stick on the top of the tower and................... we were the winner of the competition. : )))) big fun for us... !!!!
