Foot Friendly Shoes on the move

Having a first success in year 12 we decided to go on with our strategy. Our main strategy after the disaster with Production Procedure II was changing instantly and completely to Production Procedure III. Also, we allocated a large amount of money to Information and Training our workers. Furthermore, we increased the employee wages. Although we were walking on a knife's edge with this financial decision, we trusted our workers and they cooperated well.

For year 13 we were capable of buying just a few additional machines, hired some more employees and continued to carefully train our workers. We also increased our investment in Product Development. All our decisions, based on meticulous calculations, led to a tremendous profit. Therefore we proudly announce that Foot Friendly Shoes, Inc. has definitely reached a leading position in our national ranking list.

Our Company is on a Roll

Foot Friendly Shoes, Inc. finally has reason to celebrate! Our profits demonstrate our strength in the market and also show that our eco-friendly approach can produce great returns. Although the previous few years have been a struggle for our company, I am very proud of our leadership team for staying the course and remaining loyal to Foot Friendly Shoes as we weathered this difficulty.

As we moved into decisions for years 12 and 13, our management team did a great job of dividing tasks and marketing our products. I am so proud of our CFO, Helmut Wyss, for the risks he took in making tough decisions with our production methods and employee support system. Mr. Wyss was not a popular person around the plants because of his bold action, but now he is seen as a hero! We will be holding a banquet to recognize his work--check back for updates.

First big hiking in ecoland

Our two companies in ecoland organised together a hiking tour to our famous mountain Schutzhorn ( 1800 m).

For that special event we lowered our prices for athletic shoes and clothes.

During the three days before our happening people could buy all Foot Friendly and Greeenhorn products for 50% off the original price.

That was a great idea !!!!!! A lot of different people rushed into our shops and were overwhelmed about the big choice they had in colourful fancy shoes in combination with the matching socks shorts and T-shirts. Our two companies had record sales!!!!

Saturday August 1st. our national day, nearly half of Ecoland's people were waiting in front of the railway-station Mountain-View. Most of them had used the train to the meeting point ! That is really ecofriendly, I think !!!!

What colourful picture you could have seen there..... all our new shoes and clothes.....together!!!

Some young people in special trained athletic bodies and physically fit started our hiking tour and the families followed them.

At about ten we had our first break. Our baker of Obertal waited for us to donate fresh bread and coffee. That was a great pleasure for us, especialy for me as a coffee-addicted human-being.

Then we started the second part of our tour. It was very steep to go up higher and higher......

after three hours most of people arrived at our big goal, the top of our beautiful mountain Schutzhorn.

On the top we all had a special view over our beloved ecoland !!!!

I will never forget that day.

Employee information and training

The additional funds we spent on information and traingin improved the basic knowledge and skills of our workforce. This resulted in improved plant production, our workers were motivated by bonuses and they were not often sick or staying away from work.

Employees were given incentives to improve productivity. They earned points for their production rate and quality which gave them a 1% bonus after earning 100 points.

Compulsory contributions such as disability insurance pensions thirteenth cheque and also for accidental health insurance Private coverage is advisable depending on the type of contract life assurance must be combined with an endowment policy.

Trying to Turn a Profit

On Friday our group was surprised about the bad results of our company because we had made decisions that we thought would take us in a direction of much better results. So we had to look again at what we could do... Helmut and Andrea worked on the financial decisions while Sonya and myself devoted our attention to marketing our company.

It is very important to be well known in the newspapers , so we created a large advertisement with our logo and our beautiful foot friendly shoes that are fashionable and functual. We love showing off our brand new collection-thletic shoes, greencross-shoes, flip-flops, soft leather shoes for dance performances--with beautiful drawings and paintings.

We also created an advertisement for jobs since the households in Ecoland were wanting more work.

To ensure that we are reaching all of the citizens of Ecoland, we decided to compose a jingle about our shoes. Sonya worked on the music and lyrics. She first decided to do an 8 beat rhythm
She searched for the rhyming words which could match very well together.
Then I helped with the performance--singing, rhythm, and simple dance steps!
It was great fun...check it out on You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OF-OH45YgI

Our Group Wins the Tower Building Competition!

Our first big goal as a team to form the tallest possible tower given only the newspapers we were provided by the facilitators. We were given only 15 minutes and no other materials. It was required that the tower be able to stand on its own for judging.

Helmut began our process by putting about 8 pages of the paper together and rolling them into a telescoping tube. Next, Sanele and Andrea also built a tube and we put the three of them together that got thinner and thinner as it grew taller.

I worked on making small paper strips to act as bindings to connect and hold our work together. We used these many small bindings along the length of the tower.

Finally, we had to create a tripod base to hold our tall tower in place. We used smaller rolled paper lengths as legs and Andrea made a last dash by folding the bottom of each of these legs to act as "feet" for the tower to rest.

At the end, we put another stick on the top of the tower and................... we were the winner of the competition. : )))) big fun for us... !!!!
